Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

The Runout is a music rating and discovery app built by Nometrii. This policy is meant to be read, not buried — here's what we have, why, and what you can do about it.

A note on what to share

The Runout is about music — your taste, your lists, your opinions. We don't want your real name, your phone number, your address, or anything else that identifies you outside this app. Please don't put those things in facts, captions, lists, or your bio. Your username can be anything. Your profile can stay private. We built it that way on purpose.

If you do share something personal by accident, email privacy@nometrii.com and we'll remove it.

2. What We Have and Why

When you sign up, we keep the info on your profile — your email, username, and anything you choose to add. We store your ratings, captions, lists, facts, upvotes, and follows so the app works the way you'd expect. On your device, we save your theme, login state, and a local copy of your ratings. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels — see Section 5 for error monitoring.

5. Third-Party Services

Your data is stored securely on US-hosted infrastructure. We work with a small set of service providers to run the app. We describe them by role rather than by name to keep operational details out of public view; the named list and links to each provider's privacy policy are available on request — email privacy@nometrii.com.

Error monitoring and session replay. When an error happens in the app, our error-tracking provider captures a short replay of that session — what was on screen, what you tapped, scroll position, and the URLs of network requests — so we can reproduce and fix the bug. Text you type into input fields (search boxes, fact-submission forms, usernames, etc.) is automatically masked before it leaves your device. We do NOT record sessions where no error occurs.

6. Data Storage and Security

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage for:

These are functional only and contain no advertising or tracking data.

8. Your Data, Your Call

Everything we have on you is visible in the app. You can edit your profile, update your ratings, and control who sees them. If you delete your account, everything goes with it — permanently. Data export is available on request — see below.

Profile Visibility

Your profile is private by default. When private, your username, bio, and rated albums are not visible to other users. Your ratings still count toward aggregate scores (anonymous contribution). You can make your profile public at any time in Settings, and switch back to private at any time.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your profile, ratings, facts, votes, follows, and authentication record. This action is irreversible. Aggregate scores are recalculated after deletion.

Data Export

You can request a copy of all your data by emailing privacy@nometrii.com. We will provide your data in a machine-readable format within 30 days, in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Global Privacy Control

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Since we do not sell your personal information, no additional action is needed when GPC is detected.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

For California Residents (CCPA)

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

10. Data Retention

11. Age Requirement

The Runout is not for anyone under 13 (US) or 16 (EU). We do not knowingly collect information from minors below those ages. If you believe a minor has signed up, let us know at privacy@nometrii.com and we will delete it.

12. Advertising & Your Data

We will never sell your personal data. The Runout may show ads in the future — if we do, ad partners may collect limited, anonymized usage data to serve relevant ads. We will update this policy before that happens so you know exactly what is shared and with whom.

13. Feedback

If you send feedback through Settings → Send feedback, we receive the text you wrote, the category you picked, your account ID, the app version, the platform (iOS or web), and the screen you were on (shown to you before you tap send). We use this to fix bugs and improve the app, and we do not share it with anyone. We collect the minimum needed to reproduce the problem — the exact fields are listed above.

14. Changes & Contact

If we update this policy, we will let you know in the app and update the "Last Updated" date above. For significant changes, we will post a notice in the app.
